This WorkSafeBC course teaches basic life support procedures and helps you deal with major emergencies until medical aid arrives. This course is a prerequisite for the Transportation Endorsement course. Students must be at least 16 years old and be physically able to complete the learning tasks to act as a Level 1 First Aid Attendant. |

In this course students will learn: |

- The Priority Action Approach on both conscious and unconscious patients. |
- Identify and manage airway and C-Spine interventions. |
- Identify airway blockages in conscious and unconscious patients. |
- Identify and manage respiratory emergencies. |
- Identify and mange circulatory emergencies and the use of pressure points. |
- Patient rolls from prone to supine, as well as one person rolls used to position a patient that may be vomiting or have some other airway factor. |
- One person CPR. |
- Manage and treat small soft tissue injuries. |
- Complete the required paperwork for all injuries required by WorkSafe BC. |
