Occupational First Aid Level 3
( Formerly Industrial First Aid )
 
Occupational First Aid Level 3 is designed to cover all medical techniques considered to be within the responsibility of the Occupational First Aid Attendant providing emergency care in industry further than 20 minutes surface travel time to a Hospital.
 
Level 3 First Aid is for any industry that has little, no, or delayed access by Ambulance.
 
 
Prerequisites: At least 16 years old
Course Length: 70 Hours
Course Format:
- 2 weeks ( Monday to Friday 9-5 )
 
- 5 weeks ( Monday 6-10, Wednesday 6-10, Saturday 9-5 )
- Custom times for companies
Course Cost: $ 695.00

Examination: Mid-Term Written, Final Written & Practical 70% needed on all
Certificate: Good for 3 years
 
In this course students will learn:
 
- Demonstrate the priority action approach for conscious patients and patients with a decreased level of consciousness.
- Identify and manage critical interventions of the airway with C-spine control for conscious patients and patients with a decreased level of consciousness.
- How to identify respiratory emergencies and manage critical interventions.
- How to identify circulatory emergencies and manage critical interventions for conscious patients and patients with a decreased level of consciousness.
- How to prepare patients for rapid transport in the supine and lateral positions.
- How to conduct the secondary component of the priority action approach for patients in the rapid transport category and patients in the first aid room.
- How to assess, manage and identify medical referral for soft tissue injuries.
- How to identify and manage head, brain, and spinal injuries for conscious patients and patients with a decreased level of consciousness.
