WHMIS General
 
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System General is designed to inform and properly protect employees in the workplace from controlled products they may come in contact with. WHMIS provides information about many hazardous materials used in the workplace. WHMIS calls these hazardous materials controlled products. Under WHMIS, workers have the right to receive information about each controlled product they use: its identity, hazards, and safety precautions.

Certificate:
Depending on employer requirements, certification can last as long as one to five years, although employers are required to review WHMIS annually with employees.

WHMIS Specific
 
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System Specific is equivalent to WHMIS General with the only difference being that in this course you will learn about the dangers and precautions with controlled products in your exact workplace. This course is only taught to students of one company at a time; therefore, the information given is the most benifical to those who require it at their jobsite.
